Loosing Control

LOOSING CONTROL | MARK NIXON & GEORGE KING | 2014
CIVIC/INFRASTRUCTURE | for MONASH BACHELOR OF ARCHITECTURE STUDIO | by LEONOR GAUSACHS

Loosing control studio was led by Mark Nixon and George King, founders of the firm NEON which specialises in window shop displays. The studio was all about the process that one undertakes to arrive at a final product. We were guided through a series of form finding exercises, mine heavily based on clay work which is how I arrived at the project's organic roof form. The result was an arts precinct incorporating a new Frankston Train Station. Being a connection point to regional Victorian transport, plenty of time is at hand to explore the exhibitions in a suburb where cultural programs are lacking.
